Where is Cagayan de Oro? It is also known as the City of Golden Friendship is the capital of the province of Misamis Oriental, the regional hub for Northern Mindanao. A new city compared to other very urbanized cities in the Philippines, Cagayan de Oro has a number of inhabitants of over 460,000 in 200,000 families. Initially chartered as a city as “Cagayan de Misamis,” its title was at some point changed to “Cagayan de Oro” in recognition of the gold mining routines in the area known to The Spaniard explorers. It acts as base for each local and multi-national companies, including Del Monte Philippines, Nestle, Coke and Pepsi.
